Our | Modern Slavery Act 2015 Statement

Introduction

Medserve provides specialist, cost-effective solutions to healthcare organisations across both the public and private sectors. Our services include flexible servicing and maintenance packages for a wide range of healthcare equipment, supporting organisations to meet health and safety requirements and legislative compliance. In addition, we supply medical, mobility and healthcare products that help improve the quality of life for patients.
Medserve is committed to operating ethically and with integrity in all business relationships. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking and are committed to ensuring that these practices do not take place within our business or supply chains.

Our Organisation and Supply Chains

Medserve operates within the healthcare equipment servicing and supply sector within the United Kingdom. Our supply chain includes manufacturers and distributors of healthcare equipment, engineering parts suppliers, and specialist service contractors.
While most of our operations and suppliers are UK-based, we recognise that risks relating to modern slavery can arise within global supply chains. We therefore work to ensure that appropriate checks and controls are in place when engaging with suppliers and partners.

Our Policies

We maintain a range of policies designed to support ethical working practices and manage risks relating to modern slavery and human trafficking. These include:

  • Code of Conduct
  • Whistleblowing Policy
  • Bullying and Harassment Policy
  • Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy
  • Recruitment and Selection Policy

These policies reinforce our commitment to acting ethically and maintaining effective systems and controls to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our business and supply chain.

Employees are encouraged to report any concerns through our whistleblowing process, which allows issues to be raised confidentially and investigated appropriately.

Supply Chain Management and Due Diligence

Medserve does not knowingly conduct business with organisations involved in slavery or human trafficking. We apply due diligence when appointing new suppliers and periodically review our existing suppliers to ensure compliance with our ethical standards.

Our approach includes:

  • Communicating our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery and human trafficking
  • Requiring suppliers and subcontractors to acknowledge and comply with our policies and standards
  • Undertaking risk assessments to identify potential modern slavery risks within our supply chain
  • Implementing minimum procurement standards for higher-risk categories of materials and products
  • Conducting periodic audits or reviews of key supply chain partners where appropriate
  • Verifying that all employees have the legal right to work in the country of employment

Where concerns are identified and not resolved to our satisfaction, we will review the ongoing relationship with that supplier or contractor.

Training and Awareness

We provide training and guidance to relevant employees to increase awareness of modern slavery risks and the potential indicators of exploitation. This training helps employees understand how to identify and report concerns within our operations or supply chain.
We also encourage our suppliers to provide similar awareness training within their organisations.

Next Steps

Medserve will continue to strengthen its approach to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking. Our planned actions include:

  • Conducting annual reviews of employee pay to ensure compliance with National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage requirements
  • Expanding the use of supplier questionnaires to assess ethical and labour practices within our supply chain
  • Continuing to provide staff training on recognising and reporting potential modern slavery risks
  • Regularly reviewing our policies, procurement standards and risk assessments to ensure they remain effective
